Used Refrigeration Cabinets: frequently asked questions

What are graded or used refrigeration cabinets?

They are ex-exhibition, ex-showroom or second-hand commercial fridges and freezers sold at reduced prices. Each unit’s condition is described on its product page.

Do used cabinets come with a warranty?

All goods are sold under our terms and conditions. Where an optional parts warranty is offered, you can add it on the product page.

Why are some units out of stock?

Each used unit is one of a kind, so once it is sold it is gone. New stock is added as it becomes available.

Is delivery included?

Delivery to UK mainland addresses is free on the same terms as new cabinets; some areas carry a surcharge.

How much cheaper are used cabinets?

It depends on the unit. For example, an ex-exhibition double door gastronorm chiller is about £950 + VAT against about £1,790 + VAT new.

Can I reserve a used unit?

Each unit is one of a kind and sold on a first-come basis. Call 01280 811411 to check availability.

What is an R290 multideck?

R290 (propane) is a natural refrigerant with a very low global warming potential, used in modern energy-efficient cabinets.

Quality refrigeration for less

Our used and graded range includes ex-exhibition cabinets, showroom models and second-hand units. They are the same commercial refrigeration we sell new – multidecks, patisserie fridges, grab and go displays, serve overs, stainless steel counters and gastronorm chillers – offered at lower prices.

What “graded” means

Graded and ex-exhibition cabinets have been displayed at trade shows or in our showroom, or used for a period, and may have cosmetic marks. Each product page describes the unit and its condition. Stock changes often and every unit is one of a kind, so availability is shown in the table below.

Is a used cabinet right for you?

  • Ideal for new businesses, pop-ups, seasonal trading and second sites.
  • Same specification as the equivalent new model – check the product page for details.
  • Prices exclude VAT; delivery terms are the same as for new cabinets.

How much can you save?

Graded and ex-exhibition cabinets are priced well below the equivalent new models. For example, an ex-exhibition double door stainless steel gastronorm chiller is about £950 + VAT against about £1,790 + VAT new, and a used stainless steel two door counter about £850 + VAT against about £1,358 + VAT for a new two door counter chiller. Current used and ex-exhibition stock ranges from about £850 to £1,825 + VAT.

What is typically available

  • Slimline multidecks in silver and stainless steel, including a 750 mm deep R290 stainless steel multideck.
  • Patisserie display fridges, including stainless steel double-glazed models.
  • Grab and go and serve over displays.

Each unit is one of a kind, so the range changes as units sell and new stock arrives. Check the product page for the condition and specification of each unit.

Buying used refrigeration well

  • Read the condition notes on the product page and ask us if anything is unclear.
  • Check the dimensions and the delivery route – used units are the same size and weight as new ones.
  • Compare the price with the new equivalent, including any optional warranty offered on the product page.
  • Act quickly on popular models – multidecks and grab and go fridges tend to sell first.
