Airports
Refrigeration for airport, station and travel retail – premium grab and go fridges, slimline and lockable shutter multidecks, patisserie displays and glass door drinks chillers built for long hours and constant footfall.
Airports: frequently asked questions
What refrigeration does an airport café or kiosk need?
Usually a grab and go or slimline multideck fridge for sandwiches and drinks, a compact patisserie display for cakes and pastries, and a glass door chiller for bottled drinks – with lockable shutters where the unit closes overnight.
Which multideck fits a small travel retail unit?
Our slimline multideck fridges are only 600 mm deep and come in widths from 600 to 1800 mm, so a run of cabinets can fill a wall without blocking the aisle.
Can chilled stock be secured when the unit closes?
Yes – the mirrored stainless steel shutter multidecks have an integral lockable shutter.
Are premium displays used by coffee chains available?
Yes. Several mirrored stainless steel grab and go displays are built to the specification used by national coffee chains, with castors or feet.
Is delivery included?
Delivery to UK mainland addresses is free; deliveries above York, Leeds and Blackpool or outside the mainland carry an extra charge. Airside deliveries need to be arranged with the site in advance.

Built for travel retail
Airport cafés, station kiosks and motorway service shops trade from early morning to late at night, to customers who have only a few minutes to choose. The refrigeration has to hold a full range in a small unit, look premium under bright lighting, stay at temperature with constant door and shelf traffic, and be secured when the unit closes. The cabinets on this page are the ones travel retailers and concession operators choose for those conditions.
Food-to-go and meal deals
- Premium grab and go displays – mirrored stainless steel open displays built to the specification used by national coffee chains, including a 1500 mm model, for sandwiches, salads, yoghurts and drinks within reach of the queue.
- Slimline multideck fridges – silver steel models from 1000 to 1800 mm wide and only 600 mm deep, and a compact 600 mm black model, for units where every centimetre of floor counts.
- Shutter multidecks – mirrored stainless steel multidecks with an integral lockable shutter, so chilled stock stays secure when an airside or station unit closes overnight.
Cakes, pastries and drinks
Compact 600 mm patisserie displays in black or mirrored stainless steel present cakes and pastries next to the till, and the stainless steel open flat glass cabinet suits self-service lounges and premium cafés. For bottled drinks, double sliding door upright chillers save aisle space – the doors don’t swing into the customer’s path – and keep running costs down over a 20-hour trading day.
What to plan for
- Access and delivery. Airside and station sites often have restricted delivery windows, security screening and service lifts – check door widths, lift sizes and weights before ordering.
- Ambient conditions. Terminals and concourses can run warm in summer and next to ovens and coffee machines; keep open cabinets away from heat and draughts, and leave the ventilation space given in each manual.
- Cleaning between shifts. Mirrored stainless steel and removable shelves make it quick to clean overnight, and models with castors can be moved for floor cleaning.
- Night security. Use the shutter or night blind on every open fridge when the unit closes.
Food safety on the move
Keep chilled food at 8 °C or below (most operators aim for 1–5 °C), record display temperatures at the start and end of each shift, and label sandwiches and salads with allergen information and use-by dates.
